Reliable, low-cost power from Springfield’s municipally-owned utility combines with a low natural disaster risk to created an ideal situation for data center and collocation operations. Degree programs specific to data center labor needs are also in place at Missouri State University and Ozarks Technical Community College.

SpringNet operates a 60,000 square foot collocation facility along in a unique underground location offering not only security from natural disasters and intrusion but also helps control heating and other environmental issues. PHNS, a health care services company, also operates an electronic records data center in the Springfield Underground.
