U.S. Census Bureau relases population estimates

The U.S. Census Bureau population estimate shows Springfield has grown over 2,600 residents, or 1.4%, from 2005 to 2007. With 154,777 residents, Springfield, Missouri is now the largest "Springfield" in the United States, followed closely by Springfield, Massachusetts.
Springfield maintains its place as Missouri's third largest city and metropolitan statistical area. Springfield's five-county metro population stands at 420,020, a 14% increase since 2000.
