Theater to anchor College Station development in downtown Springfield

Aug 23, 2005

Portland, Oregon based, Wallace Theater Holdings announced today they will open a 14-screen megaplex cinema as the anchor of the new College Station development. The state-of-the-art theater will occupy 54,000 square feet of the development and feature stadium-style seating, wall-to-wall screens and deluxe seats.

College Station, developed by Tillman Redevelopment, is set to break ground within the next few weeks and is anticipated to be open in fall of 2006. In addition to the theater the project, designed by Butler, Rosenbury & Partners, will feature 42,000 square feet of retail space. Concurrently, two city-owned parking decks totaling 1,000 parking spaces will be constructed on adjacent lots.

As the first project in downtown Springfield to include new construction of retail space, College Station provides strong evidence of the confidence national developers have in the renaissance of downtown Springfield.
