Springfield ranks first in Missouri as "Best Performing City"

Springfield is first among Missouri cities for creating and sustaining jobs according the 2007 “Best Performing Cities” index compiled by The Milken Institute and Greenstreet Real Estate Partners.
Springfield ranked 47 overall on the list, up from a 77 ranking in 2005. This year’s index ranked St. Louis at 125 and Kansas City at 116.
The best-performing city was Ocala, Florida. Other cities in the top ten included: Phoenix, Orlando, Las Vegas and Raleigh.
