Springfield provides lowest cost utilities

Memphis Light Gas and Water has issued its 2007 Utility Bill Comparison report which ranks Springfield the lowest cost residential utility in the nation. The study evaluated standard electric, gas, water and sewer rates as of January 1, 2007 for 58 cities across the U.S. The cities were selected on the basis of size and geographic location.

Springfield also ranked high in all of the commercial and industrial categories, although an overall analysis of these categories is not included in the report.
