Springfield manufacturer Kraft Foods to add 50 jobs, expand production

Feb 23, 2010

Kraft Foods Inc. plans to add 50 jobs and expand production over the next six to nine months, including an investment of $9 million of capital into two new manufacturing lines. Wages for the 50 new jobs created will be above the county average and include a comprehensive benefits package.

Kraft Foods has had a presence in the Springfield area since 1939. The world’s second largest food company currently employs more than 950 people at its facility on N. Glenstone Ave.

Kraft Foods was approved to receive state tax credits by the Missouri Department of Economic Development through the Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) program, which assists in the creation of new jobs and investment.

The EEZ program created in 2004, is geared for specified geographic areas designated by local governments and then certified by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
