Nonstop service to Los Angeles International Airport

Allegiant Air will announce new air service later this morning from Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) with direct service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This flight will be the 5th Allegiant destination out of Springfield and the 13th city for SGF.

The announcement comes at a time when air service is being cut from "small hub" airports like SGF nationwide, yet this will be the second addition of new direct flights for Springfield in the last six months. The route will be Springfield's first to the west coast and the longest direct flight to ever leave SGF on a scheduled basis with twice weekly flights beginning on May 3.
