51-Acre Site in Springfield Obtains Certification

Feb 11, 2010

The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) has certified a development-ready site in Springfield's Partnership Industrial Center West. The 51-acre site is located in northwest Springfield adjacent to Interstate 44 and the Springfield-Branson National Airport. This is the second such site in Missouri to be designated.

The Certified Site Program is a pre-qualification process that provides a standardized tool which both development professionals and business prospects can review prospective sites for compatibility with their development needs. The certification of a site is performed through a comprehensive review of many of the issues facing businesses and corporations as they search for areas to relocate or expand. These issues include the availability of utilities, site access, environmental concerns, land use conformance and potential development costs. The program’s purpose is to provide consistent standards regarding the availability and development potential of commercial and industrial development sites.

Partnership Industrial Center West is a 400-acre master-planned industrial park that offers cost-effective, development-ready sites with utilities, roads and permits in place. With 10 existing facilities and nearly 200 acres remaining, development sites are available for $60,000 per acre and are within the boundaries of the Springfield Enhanced Enterprise Zone.
