Earlier this month the United States Bureau of the Census released
its annual population estimates for counties across the nation.
These estimates help to track area growth on an annual basis.
The Springfield region once again showed
significant growth in the past year and continued as the state's
fastest growing metro area. Also, Christian county was again
the fastest growing county in Missouri.

geographic areas used to define Springfield's market and their
