NORTHWEST AIRLINES CONTINUES
TO EXPAND IN SPRINGFIELD

Northwest Airlines will soon add jet service to Minneapolis-St. Paul in its latest expansion in the Springfield market.

The two daily flights, to be added in June, will give travelers additional choices to the northwest United States. This means Springfield now has nonstop service to all of Northwest Airline’s U.S. hubs.

The airline also announced because of higher passenger demand, it is upgrading two Memphis flights to larger jets. The 50-seat regional jets will be replaced with 100-seat DC-9s, operated by Northwest.

Very few airports around the nation are able to show the kind of market-driven growth Springfield-Branson Regional Airport has experienced. In the last 12 months, Delta Airlines has been added to its list of carriers, and American, Northwest and United have increased service.
