A TOP 25 CITY FOR JOB GROWTH |
|
Job growth is strong in the Springfield area, according to recently
released data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Of 315 urban
counties, Greene County ranked 21st. In the past year, the county
showed a 2.4 percent growth in jobs, well ahead of the national
average of minus .3 percent. Over the past decade the Springfield
area experienced an average of 2.3 percent job growth each year.
The same study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics also detailed
growth in pay for the same counties. Springfield and Greene County
saw a 1.9 percent increase
over the past year, which is nearly one half of a percent above the national average. |
